I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
